DWCS3: The Missing Chapters

Frames

HTML Frames provide a way of displaying multiple Web pages in a single browser window. Each page is displayed in it's own "frame," which combined form a "frameset" which fills the browser window. This technology suffers from some problems (an inability to bookmark different views of the "frameset" and trouble printing frame pages to name two) and has fallen out of favor among many Web designers. Because of that (and because we wanted to keep Dreamweaver CS3: The Missing Manual at a size that could fit inside a backpack without causing back injury) we've removed that chapter from the printed book, but provide it here in electronic form:

Animation

Dreamweaver CS3 includes some tools for animating objects on a Web page. Unfortunately, these tools haven't been significantly updated since Dreamweaver MX. In fact, they were removed when Dreamweaver MX 2004 first shipped, and were later returned to the program. So the tools are old; they also add way TOO much code, and just aren't completely reliable in all browsers. However, since we know some of you may still be interested in them, you can download an electronic version of Chapter 12: Layers -- Interactivity and Animation from Dreamweaver MX: The Missing Manual.
