Oct292007Photo Gallery Tutorial on CreativePro.com

I’ve just written a tutorial for CreativePro.com on using Lightbox (a great, free, JavaScript program) to make sophisticated looking image gallery pages. You can see an example at: http://www.creativepro.com/img/story/VSGallery/gallery_finished.html

I’ve included instructions on how to use Dreamweaver to create the gallery. The tutorial is free and you’ll find it at: http://www.creativepro.com/story/howto/26043.html.

Thanks again for another of your informative articles. I particularly enjoyed reading the DW integration.

However, there are faster, more slim-lined solutions available (no waiting for images to download when the popup window appears like you do with Lightbox).

Take a look at these customized versions of Lightbox - I think you might enjoy these more than Lightbox:

See Slimbox in action (click the yellow badge on the Home page, then click on a gallery):

Since discovering your articles on CreativePro.com, I have become a much improved Web designer and CSS developer. For this, I truly thank you.

Cheers :-)

Hi Jez,

Thanks for the link. Slimbox is very nice. It let’s you load other content besides photos such as Web pages into the frame. That’s very useful.

I’m glad you’re enjoying my articles!
